Market Assistant Job Description

Market Assistant will work with a small team to maintain market displays and help farm guests.

Major Responsibilities
• Greeting: welcoming market visitors with a smile, answering questions and
providing good customer service
• Cashier: accurately entering transactions into computer and providing correct
change
• Packaging of seasonal baked goods and prepared foods, following food safety
training
• Stocking produce and pantry displays
• Greenhouse plant care and sales assistance
• Cleaning: daily sweeping, sanitizing countertops and work spaces, cleaning restroom facilities, trash collection etc
• Other hospitality and market maintenance tasks as needed or requested

Qualifications:
• Team player, positive attitude, outgoing personality
• Strong communication skills
• Good physical health: must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Supportive of local agriculture and interested in sharing seasonal knowledge with our farm guests

Schedule and Compensation:
• Schedules and tasks change seasonally. This position will be available late August through December, with opportunities to extend into 2024 for the right candidate.
• Compensation will be determined based upon availability and skill level.
• Ideal candidate would have availability to work most Friday-Sundays.
• Part-time schedule could be accommodated, though full-time hours could be
available for the right candidate.
